Never Have I Ever Made ~ #5

Scones.

I really do not care for them, but my Mother loves them! I did some research and it seems that this brand of packaged Scones Mix is quite highly rated.

I found this at a gourmet market, I can’t remember where, but I thought we’d give it a shot.

I made my own Lemon Glaze out of 1/3 of a cup of Powdered Sugar and a scant tablespoon of Lemon Juice, nice addition.

I served these warm with softened Butter and my Homemade Meyer Lemon Curd. Mom was in piggy-heaven.

For myself, I liken Scones to the American Drop Biscuits, a bit too dry for me, even with all the toppin’s.

In any case …

Back Home In Hawaii ~ May 2019 ~ Part 4

Another place that is a

MUST GO TO

is Matsumoto’s for Shave Ice (please note-it is NOT Shaved Ice)

MAN!

Myself, I prefer the traditional Rainbow with Ice Cream and Azuki Beans on the bottom … I can’t remember which flavor DH ordered.

On this last trip back home to Hawaii Nei we went to Waiola’s, which is suppose to be even better than Matsumoto’s

Meh, not so much really.

We don’t mind that long ride out to Haleiwa.

DH insisted that he remembered how to get to Waiola’s, hmmm, we drove around for ever with no success. I looked it up on my smartphone and we were way off

Our story will continue, so stayed tuned …

What To Do With Leftover Turkey

I like to buy those Jennie-O Turkey Breast Tenderloins. They’re so simple to prepare and I wind up with a good amount of leftovers.
HMMM…
I was trying to dream up something different to do with those leftovers and came up with this

Make something like a Turkey Pot Pie filling, but instead of putting it between Pie Crust, serve it over Buttered Eggs Noodles.

Very delicious!

Chicken And Spinach Alfredo Lasagna

I’d been seeing these recipes on Pinterest for an Alfredo Sauced Lasagna rather than using Marinara, Hmmm

I like white sauces very much, but DH does not.

So I figured I’d make two Lasagnas in smaller pans. One the regulation way and another a bit different to try and possibly share next door.

Meh.

I won’t bother with sharing the recipe for this dish, because I just winged it, ya know how to do this … layer Sauce, Noodles, Cheese, Chicken and Spinach, more Sauce and Cheese, repeat.
The Chicken and Spinach Alfredo Lasagna was just okay for me and DH loved his with the Red Sauce.
So I’d say that was a win-win dinner.
