Back Home In Hawaii ~ May 2019 ~ Part 4

Another place that is a

MUST GO TO

is Matsumoto’s for Shave Ice (please note-it is NOT Shaved Ice)

MAN!

Myself, I prefer the traditional Rainbow with Ice Cream and Azuki Beans on the bottom … I can’t remember which flavor DH ordered.

On this last trip back home to Hawaii Nei we went to Waiola’s, which is suppose to be even better than Matsumoto’s

Meh, not so much really.

We don’t mind that long ride out to Haleiwa.

DH insisted that he remembered how to get to Waiola’s, hmmm, we drove around for ever with no success. I looked it up on my smartphone and we were way off

Our story will continue, so stayed tuned …

Aloha! I would give anything for a decent shave ice here in California, but alas. . . Having said that, I have never been to Matsumoto’s, but Waiola Shave Ice(on Waiola St.) is our go-to place. It is located a five minute drive from my aunty’s house near the UH, where we used to stay and where I grew up. I am a purist with shave ice and only get the shave ice–no ice cream, azuki beans, etc. And it reminds me of small-kid time and the shave ice I used to get at Lau Store on Alexander St.
    I love your posts!

      Aloha Susan!
Here in Arizona there are a few Shave Ice Food Trucks but I’ve not tried any of them.
“Small-kid time”, MAN! You just started just great memories flowing through my head Sis!
I’m so glad that you’re here and enjoying my muses. Have you had an opportunity to look back over my eight years of posts?
      Wait, WHAT? WOW!
I hadn’t thought about how long I’ve been doing this before … again you jogged my memory. ^^’
